Good for the Brain, Good for the Mind
In November, 2013, I took a class with April Boulter, MS called Exercise as Medicine. It was sponsored by Exercise Etc. Inc. and I attended in order to fulfill my Continuing Education Units needed for my Personal Trainer’s License. April Boulter talked about what so many of you already know, the importance of exercise not only for the body but for the brain. One thing that struck me was the importance of blood flow to the brain to keep our body and our mind fresh.
Here is another thought. There are simple tasks we do every day and when we change it up, they are good for the brain. For example, have you ever tried brushing your teeth with your non-dominant hand? It is not as easy as you might think. It feels, to say the least, funny at first. But after you try it for awhile, you will feel more ambidextrous. I believe small activities such as this can also be good for brainpower, in the same way puzzles or reading are good for the brain.
Another suggestion, when at the computer use a different hand for the mouse. It gets easier and changes things up for us.
Maybe you have other ideas that are good for the brain, good for the mind.
