This solo starts with a simple floor pattern as the human form traces the outside of a rectangle. The performer enters the space holding a lit candle. The dancer moves with a delicacy and lightness in order to keep the candle flame from extinguishing.
Six bathroom scales adorn the floor space in a random pattern. The performer begins to move through the space created by the visual placement of the scales. A sense of proportion prevails as the human form condenses, resizes, and reshapes.
The final passage becomes a search for a moment of repose and reflection. The props are manipulated in a whimsical manner. The purpose is to create a make-believe world and a feeling of being transported over time. It evokes memory and imagination.
