Wisconsin Dance Council Honors Susanne Carter
The Wisconsin Dance Council honored Susanne Carter of Carter Productions with a Career Recognition Award. This award is given to a person whose diverse dance contributions such as organization, leadership, choreographer, performer, educator, and innovator have changed the future of dance in Wisconsin. The award was presented in Madison, WI, Oct. 7th at the Madison Club. Ms. Carter along with several other awardees was honored.
Deb Solis, a Milwaukee dance professional, wrote the following: “Susan Carter has lived in Milwaukee for the last thirty-four years and dance has been her love, passion, and career. She has collaborated, presented and used every means possible to bring the joy of moving to all people within the community.
She has made contact with professional dancers, community agencies, schools, churches, health care professionals, and private businesses. She influenced students as an educator, artist, and artist in residence and has choreographed works for her solo one-woman shows, professional dancers, and community dancers.
Her extensive knowledge of dance, creative movement, the artistic and creative process, performance, personal training and fitness has developed into a special blend that she shares with children, adults, people with Parkinson Disease, and the general public. Her dedication, commitment, hard work, and love of dance have created a lifetime of achievement.” End of quote
